How to quiet the mind

This is probably one of the most asked questions, “How does one quiet the mind?”

The truth is, you can’t. There is a constant flow of thoughts, ideas, concerns, worries, chores, wishes, fears, tasks, daily routines…. it all runs through our minds at speeds faster than you can say, “stop”.

So what can we do?

We can learn to focus on one task at a time. Concentrate on one aspect of ourselves, and try to see how it affects us.

Can we become better; can we learn to like who we are, what we do and how we respond to things? We will always be challenged, however its how we deal with each challenge that breaks us or makes us.

Try to learn from each challenge as a beautiful lesson. A lesson that can only make us a better person. A person who is kind, loving, compassionate and helps those less fortunate and who are in need. Learn to give without expectation and give love to those we fear the most.

Start by taking some small steps towards this by some simple meditations. Sit quietly for as long as you can spare the time. Breathe, send out love, be still and listen to your inner voice, which will guide you.

We are all amazing souls, living in a human existence.
